I already work at a medical office. Does that shorten the program?

No. The hours are set and every student completes them. What your experience changes is how the coursework feels, particularly the administrative units, and how quickly you find your footing in the internship. Several of our strongest students started exactly where you are.

Which program should I take if I want to stay at the front desk?

Medical Office Specialist is the direct route, and Medical Billing and Coding suits people drawn to claims and records. If you want the option to move into clinical work in a year or two without starting over, the Medical Assistant program covers both sides.

Are classes taught in Russian or Chinese?

Classes are taught in English, with Chinese and Russian support available in the classroom. Your charts, your supervisors and your patients will be working in English, so the program has to be. If you need to build English first, start with the placement exam and the ESL program.

What will this cost me?

That depends on the program and on your aid eligibility. Pell and New York TAP are available to eligible students in the longer registered programs and do not apply to ESL or the short standalone courses. Ask the financial aid office for your own numbers rather than working from a friend's.
